How to prepare to develop your film
Once the photos were taken it was time to develop the film.
Once the photos were taken it was time to develop the film.
You will need:
1. A room where no light can get in (including safe light, that can't be used)
2. Your film in its canister
3.Scissors
4. A film reel
5.A developer tank
Step by Step:
1. Take your film out of the canister, it should have a tail that is sticking out, if not you'll have to pop the lid off in complete darkness and complete the whole process in complete darkness. Take a film reel and the tail of the film, you will need to cut it so it has a pointed bit at the front.
2. When you have cut it, you will need to start loading the film onto the reel, make sure you only do this for the part that is already out.
3. Once you have done that, take your developer tank (the developer tank has several parts, this is shown in the picture above), a pair of scissors and your reel into a room where no light can get in to. You must not use safe light as this will fob your film. Continue to load your film onto the reel until you get to the end where you will need to cut it.
4. Place the reel into the tank and firmly close it, make sure the lid is on properly before exiting the room.
5. You will now need to develop your film using chemicals.
Stay tuned for a post on how you develop the film.
